Dear Shepherd Elijah Lee

Praise God who gave us eternal victory through Jesus Christ who died on the
cross and rose again from the dead. Last weekend (March 31st-April 2nd) St.
Louis UBF joined the Easter Bible Conference, titled with "Jesus' Victory",
with other Missouri Valley area UBF chapters such as UMKC, WIU, UNO and so
on. Through this conference, I personally learned that there is a great
spiritual victory in Jesus' death on the cross when Jesus said, "It is
finished." (John 19:30). I thought that there is a victory only in Jesus'
resurrection, not in his death on the cross. However, God taught me that
Jesus' death on the cross is Jesus' great victory in the spiritual battle
against the power of sin and death through his obedience to the Father's
will for world salvation. During the conference we experienced Jesus'
victory in all aspects of life. First of all, God sent two shepherds from
Washington Univ. Dr. Oleg and Andy Wong who served a message and shared a
testimony. Dr. Oleg, who works as post-doc in Wash U, struggled a lot to
overcome himself and finish his message. He thought that his life was one
defeat after another from Satan and suffered from the sense of failure. But
while preparing his message based on 1 John 1:5, he experienced Jesus'
victory in his suffering and hardships. Through this conference, God
provided him with more spiritual strength to fight a good fight and win over
Satan in his spiritual battle. Andy Wong, my one to one sheep from Wash U.
also struggled to attend the Easter Conference since he had a big test the
following Monday and had to finish two papers by the weekend. But, when I
challenged him to live for the glory of God not for himself, he repented and
made a decision of faith to join the conference. In the conference, he wrote
a very intellectual and sincere testimony and shared it before all
attendants. Andy, a fine young man who was raised up from the Christian
family has spiritual desire and search for God's direction for his future.
Please pray for him to be an ancestor of faith and one of the twelve
disciples of Jesus in Wash U.. Dr. Oleg and Andy Wong's attendance became a
great encouragement to all Korean missionaries and gave us a hope to pioneer
American campuses. St. Louis UBF has now five missionary families including
Missionary James & Ester Lee and Missionary Grace Kim's family. I thank God
for their humble co-working and overcoming spirit in this new mission field.
For the conference, we all memorized 14 Gospel key verses so that we may
overcome our human limitation and American English to experience the power
of resurrection. All Korean missionaries memorized the Gospel Key Verses in
English and recited it during the meeting. It was a great surprise to me and
thankful topics. God also helped us to prepare the special song titled, "Our
Song of Victory" under the leadership of Grace Kim. Even though it was a
short notice for practice and difficult music piece, all missionaries
gathered at the Bible house and practiced every night. All those who heard
our song were moved and praised Jesus' victory and responded with ovation.
Since they moved from Virginia to St. Louis last January, msn. James and
Esther Lee's family get along with us well and learn the God of St. Louis. I
worried about their self-supporting and heath, but God provided necessary
health to msn. James Lee to work and study at the same time. He works in a
Korean beauty supply store to supports his family and God gave him
hardworking spirit and the joy of working. Msn. Esther mostly spends time to
take care of her two children, but is willing to participate all the work of
God. We thank God for God's provision when they want to live as missionary
in America. Msn. Grace Kim suffered from fear when her apartment was robbed
a week after since she arrived in USA. But God protected her and her
children's life and taught her that America is not a paradise, but a mission
field and spiritual battlefield. She serves the worship service as a pianist
and her two children like going to school and enjoy American food. I thank
God who sent such precious prayer partners and co-workers for God's ministry
to St. Louis. We all five missionary families are making a strong spiritual
holy vessel for establishing God's kingdom in St. Louis especially in Wash
U. and UMSL students' heart. Our prayer topic is to raise up 12 disciples of
Jesus from Wash U. and UMSL. Please pray for Dr. Oleg and Andy to be a
shepherd and Bible teacher in Wash U. Thank you for
your prayer for me and St. Louis ministry. I am always encouraged by your
sincere faith and hard working spirit. May God raise new disciples of Jesus
from Dong Kyo chapter under your spiritual leadership. Please deliver my
warm greetings to all Dong Kyo chapter co-workers. I am a great debtor of
your love and prayer. Thank you. Sincerely in Christ Jesus.
