Greetings, dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
“And Mary said: ‘My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.’” (Luke 1:46, 47)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! Through Mary’s song, I learned to have personal faith and experience God’s blessing through obedience to His calling. When Mary obeyed God’s calling, she truly realized that she was blessed by God and become a source of blessing down through generations. She became a part of God’s world salvation plan as she understood God’s way of work in the history of Israel. Amen.
In December 1986, God blessed me to attend a leadership Conference in Seoul Korea which is similar to the Well Conference in America now. At that time, God opened my eyes to see myself in God’s world salvation plan. God called me to be a part of world campus mission at UBF. I did not deserve God’s blessing, but God sent me to America as a missionary in 1991. God has blessed my family to serve the flocks of God’s sheep. In this year, God has been raising disciple candidates: Erik Simon and Sarah Bahn are faithfully attending SWS and studying the Bible at U of I; God has used Sarah and Isaac Bahn to be messengers of God’s word during Summer Bible Conference at COD; Ryan Walter is praying to marry a woman of God though he goes to another church; Olivia Schultz became a committed leader at her church; Neil Rosenkranz was accepted to Moody Bible Institute and is growing to be a Bible teacher and shepherd, committed to discipleship ministry at Spokane, WA; Shawn has been faithful to 1:1 Bible study and Sunday Worship; God answered our prayer for Andrei Kossov and his family to be united in the United States and he preaches the gospel to his colleagues; Gary Ziemba was restored, healed from cancer and prays to be a shepherd of God’s flock beginning from his family members; God miraculously moved Sonny Scheel’s heart to repent of his sins and to accept Jesus as his personal savior; God has brought new flocks of God’s sheep, Jose Grenados, Danny, Larry, Chris, Bruce, Andrew and David who are studying the Bible pretty faithfully; God brought a prayer partner, Jan, at work; and one of my old friends, Jungyep in Korea, is willing to study the Bible and desires to serve Christ for the rest of his life. If I count all the work of God in and through my family and at DuPage ministry, I cannot but give thanks to God for His calling grace.
Two years ago, God also was mindful of my humble state and blessed me with Ph.D. When I started Ph.D. program, I prayed to be a professor shepherd. On one hand, I do not want to leave my comfortable job in a government for hardships may be waiting for me. Though I had an opportunity at University of Mississippi, I prayed that if this is the will of God, I needed God’s sign, requesting to give me an associated professor position. On the other hand, God reminds me what I promised to him when I started the Ph.D. program. I prayed to move to Academia hopefully nearby DuPage. Please, pray that I trust in God who has been with me since his calling. May God help me to follow God’s leading wherever he leads me by faith in the promise of God though I hope the place is nearby here. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Thank you for your prayer for my family and DuPage ministry. Please, continue to pray that we may raise 12 disciples of Jesus. May God use them to raise this nation to be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation once again.
A debtor of your prayer, the Bahn family
